[suse-axp] JDK + AWT?

I've installed the JDK1.1.8 from ftp.alphalinux.org/java on my Multia
(running SuSE 6.1). Whenever I try running anything with awt (e.g. the
SortItem applet demo), I get the following error:

libXm.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
(libawt.so)
(java traceback omitted)

Is this an Linux generic error (i.e do you RedHat users get this error too?)
or is it SuSE specific?

Any hints on how to get around it?
