I would also vote for plain "Alpha".

Compaq is too new in the game to be sure we can yet safely associate
it with Alpha. When you look at
http://www.compaq.com/BetterAnswers/story.html, given the ability they
show there not to mention the absorbed Digital (who probably deserve
all credits for the stuff), it means they can as quickly dissociate
their name from Alpha activities if they feel the need.
